Concerts & Events

Our 2021 festival will take place at beautiful venues throughout the region! The Community Concert Hall at Fort Lewis College will serve as the primary venue for orchestra performances, while chamber concerts and other events are slated in a variety of venues in and around Durango.

We are a casual community where “dressy” encompasses wearing a dress, skirt or slacks for women; sports coat, shirt, or a sweater for men. We encourage you to come as you are! The Community Concert Hall is climate controlled.

We value the importance of introducing young children to music, and depending on the concert some of our events may be suitable for children. Please contact our festival office directly for a list of family-friendly concerts.

Music in the Mountains also offers a highly popular event each festival season that is specifically designed for families and children of all ages. Please refer to our festival schedule or Family Concert page for more information and details.

Picture taking or audio recording of any kind is not permitted.

Full orchestra concerts usually last approximately 2 hours, with a 15 minute intermission. Chamber concerts are somewhat shorter.
