Each year, a highlight of our summer Festival is our kid-friendly Family Concert and Picnic. This annual educational family concert and dinner is designed to share the joy of classical music with the next generation!

Each ticket includes a hot dog dinner (complete with root beer floats!) prior to this Festival Orchestra concert designed for children and their families. We are committed to keeping the ticket prices of this event low to ensure they are accessible for all of our community’s families.

This year, join Classical Kids Live in their internationally acclaimed production of Tchaikovsky Discovers America, featuring the full Festival Orchestra under the baton of Andrew Litton.

Tchaikovsky Discovers America tells the heartwarming story of Tchaikovsky’s 1891 visit to America, the opening of Carnegie Hall, and an unexpected friendship with a young girl named Jennie. Through playful storytelling, dancing, and more than twenty-five iconic musical excerpts, from The Nutcracker to Swan Lake, from the 1812 Overture to the First Piano Concerto, the performance brings the composer’s world to life in a way that captivates audiences of all ages.
